Governor L. Douglas Wilder was right when as a keynote speaker for one of Carl’s birthday celebrations, Wilder said “Carl’s Star is still in its Ascendency.” Eastern Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia has bestowed an Honorary Doctorate on Carl U. Eggleston. This Honorary Doctorate was awarded to Carl U. Eggleston because of his work in helping the Martha E. Forrester Council of Women lay the foundation for the Robert Russa Moton Museum including getting Senator Mark Warner involved. Carl served as Moton Museum’s President for 10 years.
